Membership in God’s earthly kingdom, designed to prepare us for His heaven...read more

Is there progression between kingdoms?

I’ve heard people say, “God is loving. He won’t allow me to fail here or not be with my family there (eternity) no matter what I do (eat, drink and be marry). I’ll always have a chance to improve and progress. I may make it to the Terrestrial kingdom now, but work my way up or even go to another earth to gain more experience and progression.”

The people I hear that from are struggling from a serious spiritual deficiency, usually sinning, and don’t recognize it because it’s temporarily masked by enough temporal tape, worldly wisdom, or plenty of prosperity. It’s ok to struggle and we shouldn’t be afraid to, but as soon as we put words into God’s mouth and justify our weakness and wickedness we’ve stepped onto the wrong side. “We are to be just men (women) made perfect not justify our imperfections.” SaW

So if I only make it to a lower heaven or degree can I progress between and eventually inherit “all the Father has?”

There is a lot we don’t know, but a lack of understanding or acceptance of truth doesn’t change it. A whole sermon on what we know of God’s love and how that law works I would love to see. Until then, we can take God at his word that “He will not be mocked”, we cannot be saved in our sins only from them, “this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God”, “no unclean thing can enter into the presence of God,” and

He may enter into the other, but that is the end of his kingdom; he cannot have an increase.” D&C 131:4

If we were allowed to progress then why have the probationary state on earth? Why do we have such an extensive Vision, known as D&C 76, that details degrees of glory and what people will obtain based upon their choices if all people will inherit all God has.

In God’s love all will receive a resurrection and salvation or degree of glory based upon the obedience they give to the light they have because of the eternal, last and infinite gift of His son Jesus Christ.
